By accessing and using the Air Pollution EXposure (APEX) tool, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the tool.
2. Purpose of the Tool
The APEX tool is intended for research purposes only. It provides estimates of long-term exposure to fine particulate matter (PM2.5) based on historical residential information and public air quality data. It is not a diagnostic tool and must not be used to guide individual health decisions or clinical care.
3. User Qualifications
By using the APEX tool, you represent and warrant that: - You are a researcher or affiliated professional working at an accredited academic, clinical, or research institution; - You understand the limitations of environmental exposure modeling; - You will use the tool responsibly, solely for research purposes, and in accordance with ethical and institutional guidelines.
4. Disclaimer of Liability
The APEX tool is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. The Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) makes no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of the results for any particular purpose.
In no event shall PHSA, its researchers, affiliates, or contributors be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of or in connection with the use or inability to use the tool, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
5. Use at Your Own Risk
Use of the APEX tool is entirely at your own discretion and risk. You are solely responsible for any outcomes or interpretations derived from its use.
6. Data Privacy
The APEX tool does not store or transmit your input data unless explicitly designed to do so in future versions. Users are responsible for ensuring the privacy and security of any data they upload or download.
7. Modification and Termination
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the tool at any time without notice. Continued use of the tool following any changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.
